Obituary

Harold L. Haefka, age 80, of Stevensville, PA (formerly of Lorain, OH) passed away Monday morning, February 16, 2015 at the Bradford County Manor in Troy, PA.

Harold was born on November 19, 1934 in Lorain, OH the son of the late Karl Frederick and Elsie Braun Haefka. He served his country in the US Army.

He was employed with US Steel in Lorain, OH for over four decades before retiring. Ten years ago he moved to Stevensville, PA. He has resided at the Bradford County Manor for the last two years.

He attended the Hope Baptist Church of Herrick Twp., PA. He was a past member of the USS/Kobe Steel Company Union in Lorain, OH. He was a lifetime roller skating enthusiast and he loved to spend time at his camp in Linesville, PA. In his younger years he enjoyed to fish and hunt.

Harold is survived by his sons and their spouses Karl and Debbie Haefka of Wyalusing, PA and John and Shawn Haefka of Tarboro, NC; his grandchildren Dezra Brigham and her husband Jay of Spring Hill, PA, Seaman Benjamin Haefka of Wyalusing, Nathaniel Haefka of Wyalusing, Jonathan Haefka of Wyalusing Rachel Haefka of Wyalusing, Amber Mailender and her husband Sam of Kissimmee, FL, SPC John Haefka, II of Tarboro, NC, Jesse Haefka of Ohio and Amanda Haefka of Ohio; five great-grandchildren as well as one on the way. He is also survived by a sister Ruthanne Haefka of Gettysburg, PA; many nieces and nephews; and a very dear long-time friend and coworker, Marvin Rollyson and his wife Eileena of Elyria, OH. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Scott Haefka in 2001, his sister Emma Snyder, and his brothers Raymond Haefka and Delbert Haefka.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Hope Baptist Church, 191 Hiduk Road, Wyalusing (Herrick Twp.), PA with Pastor Wade Clauser of the church officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Stevensville Cemetery at a later date.
