Obituary

Hazel Louise Wilmarth, age 86, of Laceyville, PA, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Hazel was born on March 29, 1930 the daughter of the late James Arthur Webber (November 20, 1984) and Ethel Mae Harvey Webber (April 11, 2004) in Tunkhannock, PA. She married George F. Wilmarth Sr., on September 11, 1948 and together they have six children. Hazel was a member of the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women. She was also involved in the Skinners Eddy Methodist Church Choir and she taught Sunday School at the church as well. Hazel enjoyed canning, cooking, baking and gardening. She enjoyed taking care of her family and having family dinners and family get-togethers at her home. She was a family-oriented woman and loved being around her family.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 68 years, George F. Wilmarth Sr., of Laceyville, PA; her children Donna Gleason (Herbert) of Laceyville, PA; George Wilmarth Jr. (Sharon) of Laceyville, PA; Susan Hoeffner (Reverend Doug) of Old Forge, PA; Dale Wilmarth (Judy) of Springville, PA; Karen Herron of Laceyville, PA; and Duane Wilmarth (Connie) of Laceyville, PA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Beatrice Ayers of Williamsport, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers James A. Webber Jr; Howard Webber; and sister Alberta Griffing.

Funeral services for Hazel will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main Street, Laceyville, PA at 11:00 AM with Reverend Doug Hoeffner, Hazel's son-in-law and Pastor Gary Myers of Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Rural Rest Cemetery in Kaiserville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 3, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church Piano and Organ Fund, 133 Doolittle Hill Road, Laceyville, PA 18623.
