Obituary
Howard Isaac Cory, age 72, of Wyalusing, PA passed away at his home, Saturday morning, September 20, 2014.
Howard was born on October 7, 1941 in the Camptown, PA area to the late Isaac D. and Lucy E. (Hancock) Cory. He was a life-long resident of the greater Wyalusing Area who worked for many different businesses over the years including the Laceyville Charcoal Plant, Benscoter Forest Products, and for several of the Local Garment Industries.
He enjoyed volunteering at the local senior citizens centers, especially playing the piano for the residents of Park Place and the Skilled Nursing Unit at the Towanda Memorial Hospital. When the weather was good, he found pleasure in walking from his home on Riverside Drive around the town of Wyalusing to visit with several friends and neighbors.
Surviving are his seven children: Brian Cory of Wyalusing, PA Eric Cory of Towanda, PA Gary (Barb) Savoy of Reinholds, PA, Timothy (Debra) Savoy of Mansfield, PA, Linda (Robert) Dodge of Monroeton, PA, Diane (Jake) Pysher of Williamsport, PA, and Barb (William) Bennett of Friendsville, PA. A sister-in-law, Anna Cory of Wyalusing, PA; seven grandchildren, Melinda Austin, Julie Falsey, Ted Falsey, Gary Savoy JR., William Savoy, Jennifer DeVore, Jeremy Tyler, Leah Tyson, and Robert Franko III, several great grand children, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his loving wife, of nearly fifty years, the former Gertrude M. (Beidleman) Cory, his parents, two brothers, Romaine, and Dewitt Cory, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Wyalusing Borough Cemetery.
