Howard A. Sharer, 84, of Stevensville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Sharer Farm Shop where he loved to spend his days.  He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, great-uncle (father and grandfather) to his extended family.

Born on October 6, 1934, in the Towanda Mills Hospital, Towanda, PA, he was a son of the late Walter H. and Mable Wootton Sharer.  He graduated from Wyalusing High School, a member of the Class of 1953.  Howard devoted his life to the Walter Sharer & Sons family farm.  Howard milked cows, drove log truck, and ran the family sawmill for most of his life.  After he stopped milking cows, and driving log truck, prior to his retirement he cleaned and maintained buses for Sharaton Bus Service.  He was proud to be the log truck driver recognized by Proctor & Gamble for hauling the first and the last load of pulp wood into the Mehoopany Plant.

Howard married Joyce Fassett on January 14, 1981.  He loved traveling to Branson, MO and Nashville, TN while he was able and watching old western movies with his wife Joyce.  He especially enjoyed the Sunday unofficial church service held in the farm shop followed by his special lunches with his great nieces Ashlee and Priscilla Newton.  He was a member of the Beaver Meadows Church and the Tri-County Sportsman Club in Silvara, PA.  Howard loved his visits from family and friends and taking his Gator on several daily trips around the farm.  He was an honest, hardworking, giving man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his loving spouse, Joyce; brother Ronald Sharer, sister Norma Jean and Arden Campbell, brother Kenneth and Nancy Sharer; nephews Rick and Robin Campbell, Randy and Sandy Campbell, Lynn and Christina Campbell, Aaron and Andrea Campbell; nieces Linda and Steve Bennett, Jennifer and Ralph Newton, Jill Sharer and Philip Prater;  extended family Connie Sharer, Kenneth and Florence Fassett, Rita and Keith VanDeMark, Martin and Bobbi Fassett, Cathy and Brian Youells, Mike and Laurie Fassett; several great nieces and nephews.  Howard was predeceased by his parents Walter H. (d. September 5, 1998 and Mable Sharer (d. Marcy 27, 1978) and his brother Ralph Sharer (d. June 28, 2007).

A Graveside Service for Howard will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Beaver Meadows Cemetery, with the Pastor Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Church, Inc. officiating.
