Ira (Butch) C. Robinson, age 72 of Meshoppen, PA, passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2022, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Ira was born in Jenningsville, PA, on the family farm, on February 4, 1950. He was the son of the late Lewis V. and Mary L. Stevens Robinson.
Butch attended Tunkhannock High School. On July 18, 1970, he married his late wife, Martha K. Smith Robinson, and were married for 51 years, until her death on May 1, 2022.
Butch worked on the family farm, which is known as the Hockey Pond Farm today. He was also employed at Procter and Gamble for 22 years, from 1969 until his retirement in 1992.
Butch enjoyed collecting toy John Deere tractors, driving the country side looking at all of the farm land, and helping on the family farm. He was well known for his ability to remember special dates, birthdays, anniversaries, deaths and so many other events.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Robinson, of Meshoppen, PA, his son and his wife, Jason and Mary Robinson, of Laceyville, PA, his brothers Lewis (Marilyn) Robinson, of Mehoopany, PA, John Robinson, of Meshoppen, PA, Randy (Hyang) Robinson, of Tunkhannock, PA, and his sisters, Barbara Smith, of Jenningsville, PA, Rosemary Bellows, of Standing Stone, PA, a nephew, whom he considered like a brother, Phillip (Shirley) Goodwin, who is currently the 6 th . generation owner of the family farm, and is currently operated by his son Chuck Goodwin. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen Robinson (d. 2009), A. Carmon Robinson (d. 2021) and sisters, Bernice Goodwin (d. 2007) and Laura Lu Robinson (d. 1943).
Private Graveside Services will be in the North Flat Cemetery, in Laceyville, PA, at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA.
