Obituary
Iva Ruth Johnson, age 94, of Terrytown, PA passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at her home.
Iva was born on December 2, 1921 in Laceyville, PA the daughter of the late Roscoe and Helen Benninger Young. She was employed with Endicott Johnson Shoes for 23 years before retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed playing BINGO. She also took great pleasure in cooking for her family and the entire neighborhood. Most of all she loved spending time with all of her family.
Iva is survived by her children and significant others, Sheldon H. Johnson (Kay) of Wyalusing, PA, Edmund "Butch" Johnson (Shelia) of Hollenback, PA, David P. Johnson, Sr. (Margy) of Frisco, TX, Glenda Johnson of Terrytown, PA, Russell Johnson (Wendy) of Terrytown, PA, Bruce Johnson (Linda) of Terrytown, PA, Helen Johnson (Karen Murach) of Jenningsville, PA, Melva Comstock (Allen) of Laceyville, PA, Lloyd Johnson (Sharon) of Herrickville, PA, Lillie Johnson of Wyalusing, PA, and Frances "Fran" Eberlin (Richard "Rick") of Terrytown, PA; many, many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister Beatrice Johnson of Towanda, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sheldon H. Johnson in 1962; her sisters Violet Williams, Lena Young, Jeanette Johnson, and Armeta God; and her brothers Edmund Young, Duane Young, and Alfred Young.
Funeral services for Iva will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with her nephew Reverend James God and Reverend Dolly Tarreto of the Skinner's Eddy United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Terrytown Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM.
