Obituary

James L. Brown, age 73, of Laceyville, PA passed away on Thursday morning, July 16, 2026 Endless Mountains Health Systems in Montrose, PA.

Born in Bound Brook, NJ on November 22, 1952, he was the son of the late Robert G. Marie C. Corley. Brown. James attended North Hunterdon High School and graduated with the class of 1971.

After graduation, James found employment as a bartender at the Beaumont in for several years before settling into a career as a truck driver and eventually finding a home with Schneider National Trucking.

When not on the road, he enjoyed being in the outdoors. Whether he was playing golf, camping, or fishing, James found great pleasure in outdoor activities. If forced to stay inside, he could often be found at a poker table, displaying his skills as a “major card shark”. James was also a huge fan of Major League Baseball and a tremendous supporter of the New York Yankees. Most of all, James loved spending time with his grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife, Tina Brown; his daughter, Lisa Wheeler (Joe); his grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Joseph, Nickolas, Paige Wheeler, and Evie Joy Wheeler; his siblings, Richard Brown, Lawerence Brown (Roseanne), Laurie Marsh (Donald), and Jan Mehall; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew.

Joining his parents in preceding James in death are his brother, Greg Brown; his sister, Marie Whitman; and his close friend, Wayne Schultz.

A Celebration of Life will be held in James’ honor on a later date at the convenience of his family.
