On January 20, 2016 James Clarence Patton, Jr., age 81, of Mt. Lake, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was born on April 5, 1934 in Noxen, PA the son of the late James and Soloma Hackling Patton.
James was employed with GTE on 2nd shift as a Tungsten Supervisor for 28 years. He also owned and operated a beef, dairy, and hog farm on Mountain Lake, Bradford Co., PA.
He married the former Anna Laura Roman in 1959. He took great interest in studying and sharing God's word. He took great pleasure in helping with Hunts for Healing, attending Pow-Wow Festivals, and natural healing. James enjoyed gardening, hunting fishing, baseball, and was an avid history buff. In later years he used his interest to share his love for Jesus. He was a very personable man, loving and generous. He was a father figure to many people he met. One of his greatest loves was his grandchildren.
James is survived by his children Laura (Randy) Watts of Boiling Springs, PA, James (Mary) Patton, III of Mt. Lake, PA, Deanna (Thomas) Patton of Mt. Lake, PA, and Elizabeth (David) Carlin of South Auburn, PA; step-son Paul (Debbie) Roman of Three Forks, MT; grandchildren Joshua (Lindsey) Patton of Granville Summit, PA, Kristina Patton of Mt. Lake, PA; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother William Patton of Kingman, AZ; sister-in-law Marlene Patton of Athens, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Anna Laura Roman Patton, who passed away October 25, 2003, daughter Bonnie Lynn Patton, and brother Richard Patton.
A memorial service for James will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Calvary Chapel, SR 6, Wyalusing, PA with Pastor John McAndrew of the church and Pastor Timothy Barnett of New Hope Ministries officiating.
