Mr. James P. Teetsel Sr, age 66, of 1302 Lomery Rd. Meshoppen, PA., passed away suddenly at his home in Auburn twp, Susquehanna Co., PA. on Thursday Jan. 12,2012.
Jim was born in Meshoppen, PA. on Feb. 6,1945, the son of the late James S. and Ida Steinrock Teetsel. Growing up, he spent most of his life in the Meshoppen area.
Jim was employed with Penn DOT in Susquehanna Co., from 1966 until 1969. After which he was employed at Procter and Gamble in Mehoopany, PA. in their wood yard, where he worked for 29 years, until March of 1997. In his spare time Jim enjoyed to hunt and fish, play cards, and just sit and watch old western movies.
He was a social member of the Gardner Warner Post 154 American Legion in Montrose, PA., and also the Meshoppen Rod and Gun Club.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Dorothy A. Lasher, whom he married on Aug. 25,1962. He is also survived by his son and his wife James P. and Catherine Teetsel Jr., of Meshoppen, PA. and a daughter and her husband, Debora and Robert Cudworth of Moosic, PA. and his grandchildren, David J. Teetsel and Carolyn T. Teetsel, both of Meshoppen, PA.; Christy L. Cudworth and Diana L. Cudworth, both of Moosic,PA. Also two sisters; Mabel and Robert Vanderpool, of Spring Lake, PA. and Gloria "Toot" and Hallock Kissel, of Durrell, PA., and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Phillip Teetsel in March 1992, and a brother Ken Teetsel in April 2006.
With abiding with the wishes of Jim, the Teetsel family would love to invite all of Jim's family and friends to a memorial luncheon, to be held at the Meshoppen Rod and Gun Club, on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, PA.
