Jane Marie (Hitchcock) Overfield, 67, of Meshoppen PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her girls on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Endless Mountains Health Systems in Montrose, PA.

Jane was born on November 26, 1955 in Meshoppen PA. She was the daughter of the late Pauline (Long) Pickering (d. May 31, 2002) and Alfred Hitchcock (d. April 6, 1970).

She enjoyed participating in the Montrose Ascots and playing the flute during the 6th grade as a child. Jane had various careers throughout her life including local factories, the health care field, Montrose Dry Cleaners, and bartending at local drinking establishments including the Trail Inn. In 1978 Jane met the love of her life and best friend, Larry Overfield, at the Trail Inn. They married in 1980 with a wedding reception that will go down in history. They celebrated 34 years of marriage until Larry's passing in 2014.

Together they raised three daughters. Throughout their marriage, they welcomed three granddaughters whom they adored. Jane and Larry's home was always open to weekend sleepovers, holiday dinners, and parties. Her joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jane was known for her sense of humor and ability to give those she loved nicknames that stuck forever. Some of Jane's hobbies were embroidering, watching "her boys" on Hawaii 5-0, getting her nails done, rearranging furniture in her home, and shopping the day away.

Jane is survived by daughters, Brenda Reyes (Victor Reyes Jr.) of Meshoppen PA, Kristie Overfield (Paul S. Lucas) of Allentown PA, and Katie Franklin (Joshua Franklin) of Meshoppen PA; grandchildren, Conner Welch, Addison Reyes, and Lilly Franklin; great-grandchildren Harper Lee Welch and Tyler Lawrence Vail. Jane is also survived by her siblings, Judy Knapp (Jim) of Hawley PA, Richard Hitchcock (Aggie), Jenny Newhart (Rusty) of Silvara PA, Albert Hitchcock (Cindy) Laceyville PA, and Michael Hitchcock (Vickie) of Rushboro, PA; many nieces and nephews; and  her beloved chihuahua, Peggy Sue.  Besides her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Lawrence Overfield (d. October 11, 2014); brother, Donald Hitchcock (d. November 21, 1966); niece, Rachel Manning (d. May 17, 2018); niece, Stephanie Overfield (d. October 29, 1995), and beloved family pets Clyde and Ozzie.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 24 ^th , 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen PA with Reverend Charles Bishop of the Elk Lake and Transue Community Churches officiating. Family and friends may call at the Funeral home Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
