IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Lee
Kinnier
April 25, 1945 – December 9, 2022
"Our legacy is really the lives we touch, the inspiration we give, altering someone's plan - if even for a moment - and getting them to think, cry, laugh, argue. More than anything, we are remembered for our smiles; the ones we share with our closest and dearest, and the ones we bestow on a total stranger, who needed it right then, and God put you there to deliver." And deliver you did. Over and over again. Both of you did so with such grace, and your return was love.
Janet Lee Kinnier, age 77, was unexpectedly called home Friday, December 9 th , 2022. As each of her daughters held her hand, she took her last few breaths and left us. We would like to believe our father, Frank, was up there telling his jokes and causing such a ruckus that God needed Janet's aid to keep things in order as she did here on earth. So, He called her home.
She worked in the Calibration Department for 16 years at Bendix Corporation in South Montrose. In addition, for many years assisted Frank at The Zone Cafe in Montrose and The Backstreet Java Cafe in Pittston by making such delicious homemade soups and desserts! Outside of work Janet was known for close to 20 years, as Sister Janet. Being a proud member of The Mormon Congregation just outside of Montrose. But her most heartfelt group and greatest blessings and achievements came from her local AA group, of which she proudly and devotedly was a member of, for over 30 years. Sobriety changed her life and she wanted to share that with anyone who wanted to try. She helped people find the gift of sobriety. She sponsored many with knowledge and the grace of love and compassion.
She easily made friends where ever she traveled and whatever she lent a hand to. She volunteered for the local food bank, and enjoyed her swim class amongst friends at Elk Lake High School for many years. She also took pleasure in her Zoom exercise class with the Area on Aging, even if she struggled to even get zoom started. In-between being a devoted care giver for her husband suffering dementia, she'd call on her daughter, who would chauffeur and delight in a shopping trip to Boscov's, their favorite store. Last but not least, each week she very much looked forward to meeting with her cousins, Judy and Diane for breakfast. Cousins for life and friends forever. She loved them with her whole heart.
Born April 25 th , 1945 to Lydia and Donald Watkins in Nicholson, PA. She was a graduate of Roxbury High School in New Jersey where in her senior year was escorted to her prom by Frank Alexander Kinnier. Whom she later married and would have celebrated her 59th anniversary with him on December 14 th . But sadly, she was predeceased by Frank 20 days before her passing. Her father predeceased her at her young age of 4 in 1949, and her mother was called home in 1989. She was also predeceased by her only sibling, David Spencer Watkins and her grandparents, Bert and Lora Watkins of Nicholson and Thomas and Jennie Symons of West Nicholson.
She is survived by daughter, Michelle Ramey (Richard) of Lawton, PA, a son, Marc
Kinnier (Charlene) of Davenport, FL, and daughter, Jennifer Kinnier of Carbondale, PA; her beautiful grandchildren, Christopher O'Brien of Lansdale, PA, Aaron O'Brien (Allison) of
