Obituary
Jeremy "Bone" Matthew Mowry, age 38, of 956 Trible Rd., Meshoppen (South Auburn), PA passed away on Friday evening, August 29, 2014 due to injuries sustained in an UTV accident in the village of South Auburn.
Jeremy was born on November 10, 1975 in Tunkhannock, PA the son of Larry R. and Elizabeth S. (Smith) Mowry. He was a graduate of Elk Lake High with the class of 1994.
He was employed as a truck driver with Meshoppen Stone for over 13 years before he ventured out to form his own trucking business, Mowry Trucking.
Jeremy married Amy Gacha on August 19, 1995 and together they have two children, Alyssa Catherine Mowry, age 18, who just started her freshman year at Bloomsburg University, and Matthew Isaiah Mowry, age 10, who attends Elk Lake Elementary School.
He loved hunting and fishing with his family and close friends. He enjoyed coaching kids with Auburn Little League Baseball. Jeremy was well liked by everyone that knew him. He was very hard working and took great pride in everything that he did. He will always be remembered for his blue eyes and great smile. Most of all he loved his children very much.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Amy, and children Alyssa and Matthew at home; his parents Larry R. and Elizabeth S. (Smith) Mowry of South Auburn; his siblings and their spouses Chris M. Mowry and wife Tammi of Laceyville, PA, Renee M. LaRue and husband Ben of Rushville, PA, and Angela M. Upright and husband Brian of Retta, PA; his paternal grandfather, Ronald W. Mowry of South Auburn; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Cathy Gacha of Meshoppen, PA; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and brother/sister-in-laws; as well as many close friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, SR 6, Meshoppen, PA with Rev. Thomas Davis of the Braintrim Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Jersey Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.
