Joan F. Durland, age 87, of Wyalusing, PA passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Highlands Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Laporte, PA.

She was born on April 25, 1938 in Dushore, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Gordon E. and Frances G. Hunsinger Kinsley.  She attended Turnpike High School in Mildred, PA.  Joan married Richard "Dick" Durland on December 3, 1955 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Dushore.

Joan was employed with Endicott Johnson in Mildred, the American Meter Company, Arrow United and Keeler Printing.

She was a member of the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, St. John's Chapel in Wilmot, PA and the Wyalusing Rainbow Club.  She was a past member of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics, and cross country skiing.  She was an avid bowler at the Mountainside Lanes in Wyalusing, PA during the Wednesday night leagues and at Starlite Bowling Lanes in Towanda, PA.  She took great pleasure in haggling prices at yard sales.  She cherished the times she had traveling with her husband, Dick, regardless if it was to the beach, Maine, Georgia or New York City.  Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

Joan is survived by her children, Gordon Durland and his wife, Joanne of Dushore, PA, Randy Durland of Merryall, PA, and Cynthia Henning and her husband, Charles of Crestview, FL; her grandchildren, Jacob Durland and his wife, Kristina, Jonathan Durland, Richard Durland, and Vanessa Durland; her great-grandchildren, Paighton, Taylor, Blake, Parker, and Kiah; her brother, Leonard Kinsley of Perry, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Durland, Sr. (d. July 1, 2005); her son, Richard Durland, Jr. (d. May 3, 1976); and her brothers, Earl Kinsley and Lloyd Kinsley.

A Memorial Service will be held for Joan on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Pastor Robert Brown of the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Borough Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
