Joanne M. Hinkley, age 82, of Tunkhannock, PA passed away on Wednesday evening, October 11, 2017 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital.

Joanne was born on April 25, 1935 in West Auburn, PA the daughter of the late Searle (d. January 12, 1987) and Lola Greene Swisher (d. October 9, 1981).

Growing up in the Meshoppen area she was a graduate of Meshoppen High School with the class of 1953. Joanne was employed as a Machinist with the Bendix Corporation in South Montrose, PA for over 30 years.

Joanne was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Meshoppen Chapter #70. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and travelling in her younger years, especially out West with her son, Barry. She was loved by her family very much and loved all of her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Barry Lott of Tunkhannock, PA, Michael Lott, Sr. and his wife Sandy of Norman, OK, William "Dale" Lott of Scranton, PA, and Mark Lott and his wife Sarah of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Kristina Lott, Michael Lott, Jr., and Joanne Lott; her sister Betty VanDusen of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ed Hinkley (d. May 31, 1977), and siblings Robert Swisher, Duane Swisher, and Gail Burr.

Abiding by Joanne's requests funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Jersey Hill Cemetery.
