Mr. John B. Cappucci, age 99, formally of Nimble Hill Rd., Mehoopany, PA, passed away at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit of the Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA early Tuesday morning, July 18, 2017.
He was born in Old Forge, PA on May 29, 1918, the son of the late Marianno and Domenica Baldoni Cappucci. Growing up in Old Forge, his family would move to Mehoopany, PA, during the Great Depression.
For many years he was married to the former Marcella Santore, who passed away in 1988. While raising their family, John, Marcella, and their family lived throughout the Triple Cities area, of New York. During that time he, worked for many years at the Crowley Milk Plant, he also owned and operated a dry cleaning business, and also was employed part time, and retired from Pinkerton Security, in Binghamton, NY.
While living in New York State, he was active with the Windsor Fire Co., where he resided for many years. He also loved dancing, and discussing politics over the years. During his younger years, John loved the time spent growing up in Old Forge, PA.
Surviving is his son and wife Allen and Gerry Cappucci, of Seattle, Washington; and a daughter and her husband, Gloria and Lawrence Schwartz, of Massachusetts. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife John was preceded in death by two brothers; Mike Cappucci, and Victor Cappucci, and three sisters, Susie Midei, Mary Krewson, and Ann Morris.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Knox Cemetery, in Ouaquaga, NY, with his great-nephew Pastor Timothy Cappucci, of the Sweet Valley Community Bible Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Union Valley Christian School, 2071 Battle Creek Rd., Ulster, PA 18850.
