John Russell Conner, age 27 of Murfreesboro, TN (formerly of Wyalusing, PA) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

John was born March 29, 1989 in Towanda, PA, the son of Kim Marabell Conner of Wyalusing, PA and Roland Conner and stepmother Sue Conner of Camptown, PA. John was a graduate of the Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 2007.

John was employed by Mahle Fiber Systems in Murfreesboro, TN. He was former painter at All Around Painting, and was also previously employed with Vince Pizza, Flynn Energy, Excel Warehousing and Cargill.

John was a member of Wyalusing Boy Scout Pack 8, where he became an Eagle Scout. He was a member of both the Wyalusing Rams Football and Wrestling team. John was very family oriented. John's passions were writing and producing music, roller coasters, bonfires, working on his car, going for drives, going to concerts, hanging out with friends, and studying history. John also liked watching and attending NASCAR races where he enjoyed rooting for his favorite driver, the # 48 car of Jimmy Johnson.

Besides his parents John was survived by his parents; his sisters Angie Conner of Wyalusing, PA and Afton Smith and her husband Ken of Monroeton, PA; his nieces and nephews Paradise Sperry, Allexys Shaffer, Allyson Fontaine Smith, Drayton Smith, Mikayla Smith and Mason Smith; his stepsisters Emily Kesler of North Carolina and Lindsey Bliss of Towanda, PA. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Ted and Stella Marabell of Tunkhannock, PA; his paternal grandmother Betty Conner of Wysox, PA; his aunts and uncles Shawn and Jill Johnson of Monroeton, PA, Todd Johnson of Belfast, ME, Betty Hochinyavong of Murfreesboro, TN, Dave Conner of Camptown, PA, Kerry and Michelle Conner of Towanda, PA, Cathy Wells of Wysox, PA, and Nancy Conner of Camptown, PA; his cousins Mylissa Hochinyavong, Jessie Hochinyavong, and Joshua Hochinyavong, Katrina Conner Ammerrman, Mark Conner, Brandon Conner, Amanda Conner Newell, and several other beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Penny and Gene Armitage; maternal great-grandmother Ella Marie Jackson; paternal grandfather Russell Conner; and uncle Richard Conner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 PM from the Wyalusing American Legion Post 534, 71 Bowling Alley Rd., Wyalusing, PA. A visitation at the Wyalusing American Legion Post 534 will held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
