Joseph J. Sucek, age 87, of Dushore, PA, formerly of Ridgefield and Saddle Brook, NJ, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

He was born on August 31, 1927, the son of the late Joseph M. and Frances Sucek.

Joe was a proud veteran of the US Army and also served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a longtime member of the Rochelle Park American Legion Post #170 in New Jersey. He was retired from George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ, as head of Equipment Maintenance.

He was the husband of the late Charlotte Sucek. Joe is survived by his loving sister, Anna Sucek; son Joseph C. and his wife, Donna; daughter, Barbara Ann Phillips and husband, Vincent; son Charles A. and wife, Laureen; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Phillips, and dear friend, Alice LeHuquet. He is also survived by his cousin, Anka Srnak, and many cousins in Slovakia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the St. Basil's Church, Dushore, PA with Reverend Richard Rojas of the church officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church beginning at 10:00 AM.
