Judith "Judy" A. Adams, age 75, of Laceyville, PA, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA,
Judy was born on December 20, 1942 in Meshoppen, PA the daughter of the late Lewis A. and Irene G. Sutton. She graduated from Elk Lake High School with the Class of 1960. Later that year she married Harry Adams on October 15, 1960. Judy worked at the Carpenter Care Center in Tunkhannock, PA (now known as The Gardens), the Meshoppen Dress Factory, and also as a home health care nurse in the Laceyville and Wyalusing areas.
Judy was a member of the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church. She liked sewing, baking, reading, and crocheting. Judy was a strong family woman who loved to be around her family. She loved spending quality time with her family especially her grandbabies. She was known in the family as Momma Judy or Grandma Judy. She was also very close with numerous friends and neighbors. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister that will be truly missed by many. Her husband, Harry, has always said that a woman like Judy would be hard to give up.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Harry Adams of Laceyville, PA; her children Jim Adams and his wife Tess of Laceyville, PA; Bill Adams of Laceyville, PA; Debbie Garinger and her husband David of Sugar Run, PA; Kris Adams and his wife Peggy of Laceyville, PA; Karl Adams and his wife Kathi of Laceyville, PA; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Harry Sutton (Judy) of Lawton, PA; sister Iva Burgess (Gerald) of Filmore, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Judy was preceded in death by her brother William Sutton.
Funeral services for Judy will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church; 10424 SR 6, in Laceyville, PA with Reverend Dolly Tarreto of the church officiating. Interment will follow at Vaughn Cemetery, in Mehoopany, PA. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday evening, March 2, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
