Judith A. "Judy" Rhodes, age 69, of SR 267, Montrose, PA, passed away unexpectedly, at her home in Lawton, Susquehanna Co., on Friday afternoon, July 21, 2023.

Judy was born in Shamokin, PA, on July 18, 1954, the daughter of the late Steven and Anna Waiwadas Jeffery. Growing up in Northumberland and Columbia counties, Judy was a graduate of the Mount Carmel High School with the class of 1972.

For many years, Judy was employed as a seamstress at many dress and coat factories in and around the Bloomsburg area.

While living in Columbia County, she always enjoyed attending the Bloomsburg Fair and going to the Knoebeles Amusement Park. In her spare time, she also loved playing bingo, collecting crystals, and depression glass, picking up treasures at yard sales, and flea markets. Most of all, Judy loved the time that she got to spend with her granddaughter, Danaca, and her German Shepard, "Gracie".

Surviving is her long-time companion, Harry Sutton, of Lawton, PA; her son, David Rhodes, of Bloomsburg, PA; her step-daughter, Michelle Sutton, of Florida; her step-son, Tim (Heather) Sutton, of Hallstead, PA; and her granddaughter, Danaca Rhodes, of Bloomsburg, PA. Judy is also survived by her sister, Shirley Derr, of Mt Carmel, PA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Jeffery.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 5:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA, with Rev. Charles Bishop of the Transue and Elk Lake Community Churches officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.
