Julie A.
Case
Mar 18, 1962 — Jul 4, 2026
Julie A. Case passed away at her residence in Laceyville, PA on July 4, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on March 18, 1962, she was the daughter of Robert and Patricia Newhart Kelley. Julie was known for her dedication to her family, her distinguished military service, and her warm, kind-hearted nature.
Julie grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and, after graduating Wyalusing High School in 1980, answered the call to service by joining the United States Air Force. Driven by a sense of duty and commitment, she was stationed in Texas and Louisiana before being transferred to Guam. Julie achieved the rank of Sergeant during her tenure in the Air Force. Following her active-duty service, she continued to serve her country in the Air National Guard, demonstrating steadfast dedication and professionalism throughout her military career.
In her personal life, Julie found great joy in her relationships and in the pursuit of simple pleasures. For the past 26 years, she shared a devoted partnership with husband, Todd Lawrence, creating treasured memories together, particularly during their trips to Virginia Beach. Julie’s love for animals was well known; spending quality time with her dogs brought her genuine happiness and reflected her compassionate and caring nature. She was also fond of reading and shopping and enjoyed the opportunity to seek out new experiences.
Along with Todd and her parents, Julie is survived by her sons Brent Case (Lindsay Sand) of Columbus, OH and Christopher Case of Sugar Run, PA; and her beloved grandchildren, Betty Case, Sage Sand, Jackson Case, and Maverick Case. She is also survived by her brother, Monte Kelley of Laceyville, PA; her step-son, Josh Lawrence (Frannie) of Suffolk, VA; her step-grandchildren, Lilly Lawrence; JJ Lawrence; nieces Pamela Kelley and Ashley Kelley; nephews Timothy Kelley and Jack Kelley; her father and mother-in-law, John and Cathy Smith of Sugar Run, PA; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her dear friends Shauna, Danielle, and Joan, as well as many of her beloved “fur kids”. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart and will cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Maurice and Vivian Newhart, and Roy and Frances Kelley; and her sister-in-law, Carrie Kelley.
Julie A. Case will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love for her family and animals, and her honorable service to her country. Her legacy endures in the lives of those she touched, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for her loved ones.
