Obituary

Justin Michael "WildCat" Ruhf, age 30, tragically passed away in an automobile accident on Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018, near Dimock, Susquehanna Co., PA

Justin was born on August 20, 1988, in Williamsport, PA, the son of Chris and Tammy Ruhf. He was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the Class of 2007. After high school Justin proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He served a 5-year contract with two international tours on the USS Harry S. Truman in an Aviation Ordinance Position. He exited the service in 2012 with an E4 rank. All of Justin's shipmates held him in a high regard. His shipmates recall details of how he was a great source of humor and maintained his close bonds with them even years after exiting the Navy. After the Navy Justin worked in production and was most recently working for Comtech in security and site regulation.

Justin began dating his now wife Kristyn Hollenback in March of 2013 and they married a year later on April 8, 2014 in a small ceremony in Wysox, PA. They both have raised a beautiful little girl, Zoey AnnMarie, age 3. Justin's daughter was the absolute light of his world.

Justin loved the beach and the water. He enjoyed cookouts and campfires. His absolute favorite meal was chicken and broccoli alfredo from the Olive Garden. He loved his video games and enjoyed getting his daughter involved with talking to others through his headset. Wildcat was also a total movie buff, especially when it came to Harry Potter. He was a member of the Hunting Cabin, where he served as "The Prez" in Lawton, PA, which is known for sightings of the elusive white-tailed weasel.

Justin is survived by his wife and daughter; mom and dad, Tammy and Chris Ruhf; paternal grandfather and idol Gerald "Sike" Ruhf (Pop); sister Casmirra Belcher (Caleb); parents-in-law Mark and Curin Hollenback. He has a special bond for his "brother" Tyler Bidlack, whom he was so proud of for serving in the Navy as well. Justin is also survived by maternal grandparents Susie and Kenneth Groover; great-grandmother Mae Ruhf; and a large helping of aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews, and friends. Also of note, surviving relatives biological father Larry Arnold and half-sister Taylor.

WildCat has been welcome into his next beautiful journey by his loving grandmothers Benja Sheldon Ruhf and Vicki Zaner Ruhf. Other include great-grandparents Ben and Bertha Sheldon; Charles and Ada Groover; Robert and Janet Slocum; J. Ruhf and dear family friend Joe Husty.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA with Lay Minister Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Community Church officiating. A reunion of friends and family will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service as well as on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date, which will be a burial at sea conducted by the United States Navy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Justin's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project or to his wife, Kristyn Ruhf, to ease her transition into her new role of sole provider and widowed mother of our sweet Zoey.
