Karl-Heinz Ludwig Koopmann, age 85, of Tunkhannock, PA, passed away early Saturday morning, November 13th, 2021 after a short illness.
Karl-Heinz was born in Nordenham, Germany on May 19th, 1936, the son of the late Johann and Alma Koopmann. He immigrated to the United States the late 1950's and proudly became naturalized American Citizen December 30th, 1986. He was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Much of his life was lived in Queens, NY but he and his wife chose to retired to Susquehanna County Pennsylvania where he loved living in the country. He was an avid hunter, loved his land and his tractor. His greatest talent was that he could fix just about anything and would do what he could if someone needed help.
Karl-Heinz is survived by his children; Uwe Koopmann and his wife, Kathleen Koopmann, of Pittsboro, NC; Heike Proske and her husband, Frank Proske, of Montrose, PA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Ashley Koopmann of Sayre, PA, Andrew Koopmann of Dalton, PA, Sarah Schmidt of Goldsboro, NC, Nicole Proske of Boynton Beach, Florida and Thomas Proske of Montrose, PA. Also surviving are his sister, Marianne Zimmermann, and brothers; Rolf Koopmann, Gerold Koopmann and Siegfried Koopmann all in Germany and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hannelore, sister Elvi Otto, and brother Hans Koopmann.
