Katherine "Kay" Louise Ross, age 93, of Dallas, PA (formerly of Meshoppen) passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallas, PA.

Kay was born in Sugar Run, PA on August 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred and Rachael Manahan Arey.  She was a graduate of the Camptown High School.

While her children were young, Kay spent her time as a Homemaker for the family.  As her children grew older, she was employed as the Manager of the Shipping Department at the Dress Factory in Camptown and Meshoppen.  She then moved on to owning and operating a restaurant in Laceyville and then The Bear's Den in Meshoppen.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Sharon Sickler of Tunkhannock, PA and Simpsonville, SC; grandson, Jeremy Whitney of Laceyville, PA; sister, Ann Meas (Paul) of New Albany, PA; sisters-in-law; Marcella Whitney, Dorcas Arey, and Barbara Arey; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Whitney (d. May 29, 2017); sisters, Alice Armitage and Evelyn "Lynne" Matlack; and brothers, James Arey, Paul Arey, Ed Arey, and Ken Arey.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the Beaver Meadows Church with Lay Minister Vickie Ellis officiating.
