Kathryn Kelley Collins, age 91, of Meshoppen (formerly of Dunmore), passed away on Friday morning, May 1, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of the John Collins, Sr. who died in 1973.

She was born in Scranton on July 3, 1923 the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna Fritz Kelley. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School in Scranton.

During her lifetime she worked at Scranton Dry Goods Co., National Pretzel Co. in Dunmore, and Maid Rite Meat Co. in Dunmore. Upon retiring she volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Scranton, the Scranton Cultural Center, the Downtown Senior Center in Scranton, and the Ronald McDonald House in Scranton. She thoroughly enjoyed volunteering especially at the Downtown Senior Center where she was entertained by plays and other events held there.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter-in-law Eileen Collins of Meshoppen; two grandchildren Jason Collins and wife Aubrie of Dunmore and Shannon Collins Evans of Meshoppen; three great-grandchildren Destiny and Damion Evans and Felix Collins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son John Collins, Jr. on November 5, 2014, three sisters Delores Familetti, Anna Pryal, and Geraldine Romanowski, and brothers Herbert Kelley, and William Kelley.

According to her wishes there will be no services. There will be a burial at the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton at later date at the convenience of the family.
