Obituary
Mr. Kenneth B. Brown, age 81, of 435 Scottsville Rd., Mehoopany, PA. passed away at his home in Scottsville, Windham twp., Wyoming Co., on Saturday evening, May 19,2012, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Scottsville, on the family farm, on July 18, 1930 the son of the late John T. and Mary E. Ney Brown. Ken was the husband of the late Anna M. Brown, who passed away on Aug. 3, 2011. They would have celebrated their 64th anniversary, this September. All of his life he lived on the family farm in Scottsville, where he grew up, and where he would later raise his family. Many of his children and grandchildren are still living there.
For many years, Ken was a truck driver for Vandervort Mills in Laceyville, PA. and Kintner Mills in Meshoppen, PA. For over 20 years, he was a Windham twp. Supervisor, and many of those years was the Road Master. Ken was also a member of the North Flat Cemetery board of directors, and was the caretaker for over 25 years. He was honored by Wyoming County for continuously voting for 50 years.
Ken is survived by his children, Gary W. Brown; Karen and her husband Michael Ciprich; and Terry and his wife Phyllis Brown, all of Scottsville, and Lynne Brown of Dushore, PA. Also surviving are his 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Mildred Singer, of Laceyville, PA., and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Tracy Brown who passed away on April 2, 1988; and Todd Ciprich, on January 26, 2005; and two brothers, George Brown, and Ralph Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA. with Rev. Joseph Billingsley, of the Mehoopany Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Mehoopany Baptist Church, Rt. 87, PO Box 162, Mehoopany, PA. 18629.
