Obituary
Kevin Michael Collins, age 52, of Stowell, PA passed away unexpectedly in Laceyville, PA (where he had been residing) on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.
Kevin was born on February 27, 1963 in Meshoppen, PA the son of Lucille Thomas Collins and the late Walter A. Collins.
He was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1981. He grew up attending St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church in Stowell. He loved photography and learning about the history of the world. He adored his two dogs, Sassy and Alex.
He was employed as a Bartender at Rocky's Lounge in Scranton, PA for over 25 years. In 2007 he moved back to Stowell to help care for his father and became a handyman for residents in the community.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Lucille Thomas Collins of Stowell, PA; brothers Francis "Frank" D. Collins of Sugar Run, PA, Mark T. Collins and his wife Shelia of San Francisco, CA; sister Beth A Herbst and her husband James of Paoli, PA; nephew Matthew Heilman of Collegeville, PA; niece Amelia Herbst of Paoli, PA; aunts and uncles Eleanor Shaffer of Seneca Falls, NY, Harry Shaver and his wife Kathy of Tunkhannock, PA, Martha Jean Diebold of Lexington, NC, and Connie Barnhart and her husband Glenn of Conklin, NY; as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Walter A. Collins on December 23, 2009.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:30 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM from the St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Wyalusing, PA, with Father Joseph J. Manarchuck, of the church officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Anthony's Cemetery in Stowell, PA. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Kevin's name to the St. Anthony's Cemetery Association, c/o Pete Hatton, 194 Crow Hill Rd, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
