IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Joseph
Jones
May 4, 1958 – September 6, 2022
Kevin Joseph Jones of Black Walnut passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, following an illness. Kevin was born on May 4 th , 1958, and was 64 years old at the time of his passing. He was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren, as per his final wishes. Kevin attended Elk Lake School District and graduated in the class of 1976.
Kevin drove truck for many years, both for Penn's Best and AC Milk Hauling and then went back to school as a Custodian, where he worked his way up to Supervisor of the Maintenance and Custodial Staff.
He was for many years an avid volunteer member of the Meshoppen Fire Company. He also was a member of the Meshoppen Rod and Gun Club, where he served as President, Secretary and Treasurer many times. He also was a member of the Burr Hill Tractor Pulling Association, and he greatly enjoyed his time with these organizations.
Kevin was a great dancer and loved to polka and two step and loved to dance even if it was in the kitchen with his wife. He had a great group of friends who all enjoyed hanging out together at the "shop", playing shaky box and cards.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 35 years, Penny Nestlerode Jones, and his daughters Ashlie (Tracey) McMicken of Laceyville, Kayla Jones of Binghamton, and Tia Jones and her fiancé, Roy Barr who live at the family home in Black Walnut. He is also survived by his brother, Dean (Elaine) Jones of Harrisburg, his sister, Dawn Sharon of Friendsville and sister-in-law, Sharon Dewitt Jones of Lawton. His grandchildren, Trey, Braxton, Bostyn, Jaxson, Avianna and Eli were the light of his life. He knew that he was expecting to meet another grandchild in late January, and we know that the baby whisperer he was will be watching this new little one to come. He is also survived by his Aunt Fayne Smales and his Uncle Galen (Carol) Bomboy, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He loved his large family with all his heart and truly enjoyed spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Christine (Bomboy) Jones, sister, Lynda Williams, brother, James Jones, niece, Angel Sharon and nephew, Collin Burton and far too many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was a good kind-hearted man who will be greatly missed.
