Larry Gemberling, age 60, passed away suddenly at his home in Tunkhannock, Washington township, on Saturday afternoon, May 11, 2024.

Born in Northumberland, PA on January 2, 1964, Larry was the son of Ida Drumheller Gemberling of Northumberland, PA and the late Paul Gemberling (d. May 30, 2015).

After attending Shikellamy High School, he gained employment as a truck driver, eventually settling in with Freehold Cartage, Inc. where he would work for almost 25 years.  When he was home and off the road, Larry enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found hunting or, in his younger years, playing softball in the Sunbury and Northumberland area.  He also loved watching Fox News and sports on TV.  He was particularly fond of watching college softball and his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees.

In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his loving wife, Raylene (m. July 1, 2011) of Tunkhannock, PA; his daughters, Amanda Rosencrance (Steven Altenhain) of Tunkhannock, PA, Miranda Rosencrance (Matthew Durland) of Tunkhannock, PA, and Crysandra Robinson of Tunkhannock, PA; his grandson, Cooper Altenhain; his siblings, John Gemberling (Melanie) of Sunbury, PA, Michael Gemberling of Northumberland, PA, Carol Badman of Sunbury, PA, George Gemberling (Dawn), of Sunbury, PA, and Sue Gemberling of Sunbury, PA.  He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with his father, Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Gemberling (d. January 30, 2020).

A funeral service for Larry will be held at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA 18623 on Saturday, May 25 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Charles Bishop officiating.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Interment will follow at the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local Cancer Society of the donor's choosing.
