Obituary
Larry Wayne Snyder, age 75, of Sugar Run, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 10, 2017 at his home.
Larry was born on October 8, 1941, in Hollenback, PA the son of the late Theodore and Mary Matthews Snyder. He married the former Audrey Chamberlin on April 21, 1962 and together they had three children Ted Wayne, Ronda Jane, and Christopher Paul. Larry worked for Taylor Packing and now known as Cargill for 42 years until his retirement in 2003.
Larry was a lifetime member of the Towanda Gun Club, a member of the Monroeton Rod and Gun Club, and the Hollenback United Methodist Church. He loved John Deere tractors and was into wood working. Also, he loved hunting, camping, and going to the Bloomsburg Fair. He loved farming as a young man and that showed later in his life as he would maintain the family property by cutting wood and feeding the birds and deer. He was always willing to help his family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. He was sometimes known as the self-proclaimed mayor of Hollenback.
Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years Audrey Snyder of Sugar Run; his three children Ted Snyder; Ronda Snyder; and Chris Snyder and his wife Cindy; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Harold Snyder; sister Marge (Jesse) Kisner; sister Marilyn (Thomas) Bryan; sister-in-law Pat (Tom) Heyer; brother-in-laws Ronald Chamberlin; David (Kathy) Chamberlin; Butch (Marlene) Chamberlin; sister-in-law Jeanette Chamberlin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Larry was preceded in death by his infant brother Donald Theodore Snyder; sister-in-law Terry Snyder; parents-in-law Cleon and Camille Chamberlin; brother-in-law Donald Chamberlin; and sister-in-law Joyce Chamberlin.
Funeral services for Larry will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA. Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Borough Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
