Lawrence "Larry" L. Koup, age 67, of Laceyville, PA, passed away on Thursday morning, April 26, 2018 at his home.

Larry was born on September 21, 1950 at Fort Dix, NJ, the son of the late Westel and Eleanor L. Bailey Koup. Larry attended Elk Lake and Wyalusing Valley Schools.

Larry proudly served his country for 8 years with the United States Army. He joined the US Army when he lied about his age to enlist and served during the Vietnam War. Larry was a member of the Rought Hall Post #510 American Legion in Black Walnut, PA and also the Vietnam Veterans of America. Larry was an animal lover who loved to feed the wildlife around his home especially the deer. He was also a big time Penn State Football and Joe Paterno fan. Larry loved and cherished his family.

Larry is survived by his long-time companion Geraldine Redmond of Laceyville, PA; his siblings Charlene Garner of Sunbury, PA; Ronald Koup of Laceyville, PA; Sandy Brown and her husband Floyd (Tim) of Montrose, PA; Joyce Burnside and her husband Jim of Towanda, PA; his uncle Richard Eberlin and his wife Pat of Laceyville, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Kay Ann Pennay, brother-in-law Jim Garner, and niece Lori Secord.

A viewing for Larry will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main Street, Laceyville, PA. Interment will follow at Lacey Street Cemetery. Graveside Military Services will be held at the cemetery, conducted by the members of the Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion, of Black Walnut, PA; the Dennis Strong Post # 457 American Legion, of Tunkhannock, PA; and the Endless Mountains V.F.W. Post # 3583, of Mehoopany, PA.
