Obituary

Mr. Lewis J. "Jim" Butterbaugh Jr., age 59, of 191 Ball Park Rd., Laceyville, PA., passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, August 17, 2013, in Altoona, PA. while visiting his mother and brother.
Jim was born in Altoona, PA. on December 2, 1953 the son of Janet Irene Hann Butterbaugh of Altoona, PA. and the late Lewis J. Butterbaugh Sr., who passed away in 1985.
He was a graduate of the Altoona High School class of 1971. For many years, Jim was a forklift operator, until a disability forced his retirement.
Jim was a member of the Tri-Co. Sportsman's Club in Silvara, PA. and the Hughesville Rod and Gun Club, in Hughesville, PA. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, woodworking and furniture making, and cherished the time spent with his family and friends, especially his new grandson Garrett.
Surviving besides his mother, is his wife the former, Nancy Smith Butterbaugh, of Laceyville, PA., his children, Brenda Louise Smiley, of New Albany, PA.; Shelly Mae (Andrew) Dexter, of New Albany, PA; and Joseph James Allen of Laceyville, PA. His two grandsons, Joseph Allen, of Mehoopany, PA. and Garrett Dexter, of New Albany, PA., a brother Richard (Maria) Butterbaugh, of Altoona, PA., and sisters, Laurie (Jim) Mills, of Altoona, PA.; and Joanna (Favor) Thomas, of Johnstown, PA.; a special cousin, William (Lisa) Hann, of Altoona, PA. and several nieces and nephews.
With abiding with the wishes of Jim, there will be no services. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA on Thursday afternoon, August 22, 2013, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 PM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
