Lois Jeannette Walter, age 80, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Celtic Hospice Unit at Geisinger South Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Jeannette was born on May 20, 1937 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Minor and Mary Dixon Farr. On May 22, 1956 she married Peter Walter Jr. and the couple was married for 60 years until his passing on December 7, 2016. Early in life she worked at the Meshoppen Dress Factory for a number of years afterwards she worked at Reyvald's in New Albany. Jeannette enjoyed going to yard sales in the surrounding communities. She loved to be surrounded her family especially her grandchildren.

Jeannette is survived by her children Peter Walter III of Wyalusing, PA; Robert Walter (Delilah Van Houten) of Laceyville, PA; Deborah Smith (Terry Williams) of Factoryville, PA; Paul Walter of Wyalusing, PA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers John (Mary Tallada) and George ;sisters Sally and Yolanda as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Duane Allen Walter Sr. (March 25, 2009); step-mother Sarah Farr; sister Beverly Redmond and sister Betty Chetkonoski.

Funeral services for Jeannette will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main Street, Laceyville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Camptown Cemetery.
