Lorraine Estelle Lockburner Hill, 78 of Newton, NJ, passed away peacefully in Laceyville, PA on Tuesday morning, November 22, 2022.

Lorraine was born June 1, 1944 in Newton, NJ. She was a lifelong resident of Fredon Twp, NJ, growing up on the family farm. After Lorraine graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1962, she took a job at The Newton Trust Co as a teller. Following her time at the bank, she worked for the M & M Mars Co in statistics. Lorraine served as a bookkeeper for the family business while continuing to be a loving wife and mother. She was an active member of the Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church of Newton, NJ. Her hobbies included family genealogy, coin collecting and watching Jeopardy.

Lorraine married William Hill on May 22, 1965. They were married for 54 years until his death on April 26, 2020. She is survived by her sons, Mark Hill of Laceyville, PA, Michael (Becky) Hill of Alexandria, VA; and daughter Marcia Hill of California; grandson Matthew Hill. Sisters: Linda (Rick) Ayers of Meshoppen, PA, Sherre (Dennis) Boyanowski and brother Dwayne (Pat Trowbridge) Lockburner, both of Laceyville, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband William Hill, parents Francis and Claire Serice Lockburner, brother in laws Walter R Hill, Howard B Hill, John F Hill and sister in law Helen Russell.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Lorraine which will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church, 1 Yellow Frame Rd, Newton, NJ.

Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA.
