Obituary
Louis A. Aeppli, age 93, of Herrickville, PA passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA. Louis had spent the last few years at the Wyalusing Personal Care Home.
Louis was born on December 6, 1921 in Wayne County Pennsylvania the son of the late Julius Albert and Eulah Sanders Aeppli. He was a graduate of the Camptown High School.
In his younger years Louis enjoyed working on the Aeppli Farm. He later was employed with Procter & Gamble in Mehoopany, PA before his retirement in the 1980's.
He was a member of the Herrickville United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Herrick Township Volunteer Fire Co. He was an avid bowler with the leagues at Mountainside, Shadowbrook, and Starlight Lanes. After he retired he enjoyed traveling so much that he in fact visited every US state except for Hawaii. Louis loved spending time with his family.
Louis is survived by his sister-in-law Pearl Aeppli of Herrickville, PA; nieces and nephews with his/her spouse Sharon Rogers (Preston) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Gloria Vanderpool (Pete), of West Franklindale, PA, Joyce Decker (Rusty) of Herrickville, PA, Jim Pickering (Mary) of Rome, PA, Forrest Aeppli (Charlene) of New Columbia, PA, Roland Aeppli (Janet) of Herrickville, PA, Vicki Brink (Brad) of Herrickville, PA, and Jeff Aeppli (Cynthia) of Herrickville, PA. He is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Grace Pickering and Marian Aeppli and brothers Oscar Aeppli and Robert Aeppli.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 4:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Reverend William Westbrook of the Herrickville United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 until the time of the service. Interment will take place at a later date at the East Herrick Cemetery.
