Obituary

Mabel A. Lear, age 80, of 2622 Spring Hill Rd., Laceyville, PA passed away Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, PA. She had been a resident of the Golden Living Center for the last few years.

Mabel was born on October 6, 1933 in Hatboro, PA the daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel Chatburn.
She worked alongside her husband, George on their farm in Richboro, PA for 14 years. She was also employed in the housekeeping department at the Doylestown Hospital.

Mabel and George moved to Bradford County 20 years ago, living near Troy and later moving to their present home 12 years ago on Spring Hill. Mabel enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening.
Mabel is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Lear of Spring Hill, PA; her brother Ernest Chatburn and his wife Barbara of Hatboro, PA, her sister Patricia Frankenfield of West Point, PA, and twin sister Mildred Wood of Virginia; her sister in laws Emma Kay Dehl of Perkasie, PA and Gladys Nepies and her husband Albert of Reading, PA; her brother in laws John Lear and his wife Eleanor of Souderton, PA; Clarence Lear and his wife Maggie of Point Pleasant, NJ; and Walter Lear of PA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial graveside services will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, PA.

Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main St., Laceyville, PA.
