Mae Shannon Grose, age 87, of Main St., Laceyville, PA passed away on Monday afternoon, July 11, 2016 at the Methodist Manor in Tunkhannock, PA.

Mae was born on October 17, 1928 on Shannon Hill, PA the daughter of the late Jerry and Grace Roach Shannon.

She attended the Auburn Center School from 1st to 9th grade then from 10th grade until her graduation from Meshoppen High School in 1945. She was employed with GLF, later known as Agway, in Laceyville as a Bookkeeper for 38 years.

Mae was a member of the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She was a member of the Meshoppen Chapter #70 Order of Easter Star and was their organist for many years. She enjoyed her children and gardening. She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandson, Doug.

Mae is survived by her son, Colin Grose and his wife Tootsie of Laceyville, PA; her grandson Douglas Grose and his wife JiHyun of New York City, NY; her brother, Jerry Shannon, Jr. of Oneota, NY; her brother-in-law Arden Grose and his wife Joyce of Friendsville, PA; her sister-in-law Wilma Burgess and her husband Roger of Laceyville, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church with Reverend Jon Buxton of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Jersey Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, July 14, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA and on Friday morning, at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Eastern Star Services will be held on Thursday evening at 6:30 PM at the funeral home; conducted by members of the Eastern Star Meshoppen Chapter #70.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mae's name to the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church, 133 Doolittle Hill Road, Laceyville, PA 18623.
