Obituary

Margaret A. Benninger Fassett, age 69, of Laceyville, PA passed away early Wednesday morning, March 16, 2016 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, in Tunkhannock, PA, with her family by her side.

Margaret was born on December 13, 1946 on Spring Hill, PA the daughter of the late Gerald and Neva Garris Benninger. Growing up and living in Laceyville, she was a graduate from the Wyalusing High School with the class of 1965.

Throughout her life, Margaret was employed with the L&M Sportswear in Black Walnut, PA; Mindy Sue Dress Factory in Laceyville, PA; Village Variety, in Wyalusing, PA; and Eb's Market in Laceyville, PA. She also cleaned many area residents' houses for many years.

Margaret married David C. Fassett on December 27, 1963, and together they raised two daughters.

She was a member of the Goodwill Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting. She took great pleasure in following her grandchildren around to watch them play sports. She loved her dogs and most of all loved to spend time with her family.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 52 years, David C. Fassett at home; her daughters Lisa Jayne and her husband Brett of Laceyville and Gretta Robbins and her husband Darrell of Laceyville; her grandchildren Kyle Jayne and his wife Nicole of Gillett, PA, Nichole Jayne of Laceyville, Hailey Jayne of Laceyville, and Dylan Robbins and his wife Kelsey of Laceyville; her great-grandchildren Landen, Karsen, Bentley, Pyper, and Zariah; her brothers, Charles Benninger, of Towanda, PA; and David Lyman of Laceyville, PA; her extended family, Iva Fassett; Martha (Steven) Boice; Maryetta (William) Walter; Richard (Ruth) Fassett; Charles (Joyce) Fassett; Edward (Lynn) Fassett; and Clifford Fassett, her very close friends Linda and Jim Morris; and Melinda Eberlin; special nephew and niece, Brad and Malindia Fassett, as well as many other nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by many brothers in laws and sister-in-laws, also two very special friends, MaryAnn Burgess, and Debra Kunkle Sabatelle.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday evening, March 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main St., Laceyville, PA. As abiding with Margaret's wishes, there will be no memorial services.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Margaret's name to the Goodwill Fire Co., PO Box 207, Laceyville, PA 18623; or to the Northeast PA Lions Eye Bank, 2346 Jacksonville Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18067.
