Margaret May Donahue, age 82, of West Auburn (Laceyville), PA passed away peacefully on April 19, 2015 at her daughter's house in Monroe Township, PA.
Margaret was born on July 31, 1932 in West Auburn, PA the daughter of the late Michael P. Donahue and Celia Nichols Donahue Benscoter. She graduated from the Laceyville High School with the Class of 1950.
She was employed with the Bendix Corporation in South Montrose, PA. She retired after 40 years of employment when the plant shut down.
Margaret enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Pennsylvania Polkas. She liked to play cards, crochet, bowling leagues at the Maplewood Lanes in Montrose, PA, and sitting peacefully in her chair while watching the cows in the back yard. She loved the New York Yankees and was a special fan of Derek Jeter. She appreciated the county music especially Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins, and Johnny Cash. She took great pleasure in hanging out with her friends from the Bendix Corporation at PJ's (Bowies), Red's Dinner, and the ballpark in South Montrose, PA. She was fond of eating at Long John Silvers and Marsha's Dinner in Sugar Hollow, PA. Most of all she like to hang out with her friends Janice Robinson and Shirley Thrasher and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a very giving heart and was always there to help people, sometimes even a little too much.
She is survived by her daughters Terri DeWolf of Monroe Township, PA, Debbie Childress of Great Bend, PA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother Randel Donahue of Laceyville, her best friend Bambi (the cat) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother –in-law Bessie and Gerald Benscoter and her sister-in-law Helen Donahue.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Warren Hotel, 46 Warren St., Tunkhannock, PA. Interment will follow at the Vaughn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to the EMS station of the donor's choice.
