Margaret Louise Roberts, age 85, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 10, 2017, at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Guthrie Towanda Hospital where she had been living since 2016.


Margaret was born on October 3, 1931 in Kimball, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Wayne and Emma Smith. She liked gardening, cooking, and macramé. She also enjoyed camping in her later years. But most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.


Margaret is survived by her daughters Drema (Michael) Corbett of Alameda, CA; Debra (Donald) Taylor of Wyalusing, PA; Darlene Whiddon and her significant other Jon Depuy of Saranac Lake, NY; and her son Ralph V. Roberts Jr. of Saranac Lake, NY; her grandchildren Julie Rabe of CA; Ashley Roberts of Philadelphia, PA; James J Moran IV of Saranac Lake, NY; Travis L. Taylor of Wyalusing, PA; Felicity Roberts of Saranac Lake, NY; Jacob Roberts of Saranac Lake, NY; and her two great-grandsons and great-granddaughter. Also surviving is her brother Dewey (Shelby) Smith of West Virginia, Nancy (Michael) Morris, and Delores (Fred) Lance as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her former husband Ralph V. Roberts Sr. who passed in 1993; son Donald W. Byrd, who passed in 1969; son Paul A. Roberts, who passed in 1992; and daughter Pamela S. Moran, who passed in 2016.


In accordance with Margaret's wishes there will be no funeral services. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted with Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA.
