Marian A. Walter Fassett, age 78, of Rushville, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 1, 2018 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, PA.

Marian was born on January 10, 1940 in Wyalusing, PA, the daughter of the late Peter Walter Sr. and Nellie Armitage Walter. On October 16, 1957 she married William H. Fassett Jr. and the couple was together for over 55 years until his passing on January 26, 2013.

Marian was a woman of Methodist faith. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and watching the birds, especially humming birds. She liked to go to the Mohegan Sun Casino and Tioga Downs Casino to play the slot machines. Marian enjoyed going hunting and fishing as well. Most of all Marian liked to be around her loving family at family BBQ's and outings.

Marian is survived by her son Timothy M. Fassett (Ginger) of Lawton, PA; daughters Evelyn L. Wells (Jim) of Meshoppen, PA; Helen C. Hollister of Dimock, PA; Linda L. Tompkins (Donald) of Hallstead, PA; Bonnie L. LaCount (Dave Graham) of Birchardville, PA; Rachel Fassett Saxe (John) of Wilmot, PA; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers William Walter (Mary) of Towanda, PA; Jim Walter (Leah) of Dimock, PA; Howard Walter of Sugar Run, PA; Frank Walter (Geraldine) of Laceyville, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Francis Thomas Fassett; brother George Walter; sister Elsie Fassett; brother-in-law Pearl Fassett Sr.; brother Peter Walter Jr.; and sister-in-law Jeannette Walter.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Marian's name to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18510.
