Obituary

On Thursday evening, Feb. 2, 2012, our beloved angel, Marlene Kay Johnson, of Lacey St., Laceyville, PA went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family and friends.
Marlene was born on November 18, 1954 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Betty and Cecil Johnson, Sr.
She enjoyed dancing, riding 4-wheelers, the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, being outside, and spending time with her nieces, nephews, and especially Patty and George whom she lived with for 22 years. Marlene was a graduate from the Wysox School for the Handicap.
She is survived by several siblings: Patty and George Baker of Laceyville, Robert and Betty Johnson of Lime Hill, Randy and Cathy Johnson of Wyalusing, Billy and Laura Johnson of Wyalusing, Donnie Johnson and fiancé Janet Ruhf of Towanda, Charlie and Helen Johnson of Burlington, Jerry and Cathy Johnson of Wyalusing, Bonnie and Mike Boynowski of Camptown, Peggy Smith of Sugar Run, Sue Roberts of Wyalusing, Judy and Mike Spencer of Herrickville, Marion and Roger Canfield of Mehoopany, and sister in law Annamae Johnson wife of Cecil Jr. of Wyalusing. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and lots of great friends. A special mention of Pam Woodruff a very dear friend, a nephew Jon Brown of Mehoopany and his children Dakota, Malorie, Joslyn, and Nathaniel and a niece Tonya Brown of Laceyville and her son Trenton Lis. Other than her parents Marlene is preceded in death by two brothers Albert Johnson and Cecil Johnson, Jr. and a sister Joyce Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA with Rev. Thomas Davis of the Braintrim Baptist Church in Laceyville officiating. Interment will be in the Terrytown Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make donations may do so to the National Down Syndrome Society or the Alzheimers Foundation of America.
