IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Aileen
Learn
November 11, 1927 – March 22, 2018
Aileen was born in Sayre on November 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Clyde and Alice Lyke Fiske. Growing up on Spring Hill, she graduated from Camptown High School with the Class of 1945. Aileen was the wife of William "Bill" Learn. The couple was married on June 9, 1945 and had 58 loving years together, most of it on the Learn family farm, on Spring Hill. Aileen was a hard working farmer, housewife and homemaker while raising her three daughters, Vicki, Marion, and Lucy.
Aileen was very involved in the Spring Hill Community. She helped with many dinners, luncheons, and functions at the Spring Hill Community Hall as a member of the UMW, (" not the United Mine Workers"). She was involved with the election borad since she could vote when she was 18, and an active member of the Grange for over 70 years. She was proud of the 95 pints of donated blood.(* Just ONE pint short of 12 gallons!")
Aileen is survived by her daughters Vivian "Vicki" Vannan, Marion Kaye Jenkins, and Lucile "Lucy" (Dick) Forth all of Spring Hill, PA; also surviving are her grandchildren Jeanette Vannan; Timothy (Jen) Jenkins; Trevor (Katy Tremblay) Jenkins; Burke Jenkins; Megan Jenkins; Thomas Robinson; and Amy (Corey) Miller; and great-grandchildren, Ryder, Evelyn, Sophia, Abigail, Felicity, and Destiny. Aileen is also survived by her brother Louis (Jeanne) Fiske of Spring Hill; sister Pat (Wayne) Parsons of Wilmot, PA; brother-in-law Frank Carr, of Wilmot, PA and several nieces and nephews that Aileen was very proud. Besides her husband, who passed away December 6, 2003 and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son in law, Paul Jenkins, who passed away on February 23, 2005; her sisters, Marilyn Carr, who passed away on June 23, 2016; Janice Benscoter, who passed away on October 30, 2012; and brother in law, Neil Benscoter, who passed away on May 22, 1993.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Aileen's name to either the Spring Hill United Methodist Church, PO Box 155, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or the library of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were entrusted with Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main Street, Laceyville, PA 18623. A celebration of Aileen's life will be held at the Spring Hill Community Hall on Saturday afternoon, April 21, 2018 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM.
