Mary Wilcox Shatinsky, age 81, of 837 Brozonis Rd, Laceyville, PA passed away at her home on Tuesday afternoon, October 28, 2014.

Mary was born on June 12, 1933 in Laceyville, PA the daughter of the late Ephraim and Mildred Fenton Wilcox.

She worked on the family farm with her father and later with her late husband Bernard. After they sold the farm, Mary was employed at the Meshoppen Dress Factory, at Bendix Corporation in South Montrose, PA. She also was a baker with Honchells Market in Wyalusing, PA and a cook with Flynn's Castle in Lawton, PA. She also liked to lend a helping hand at Blue Berry Haven and Jayne's Orchard in West Auburn, PA.

Mary was a member of the Beaver Meadows United Methodist Church where she was the treasurer. She was a member of the Beaver Meadows Ladies Aide Society, the Ladies Auxiliary at the Rush Volunteer Fire Co. She enjoyed reading the bible, collecting bells, working in her garden, and doing puzzle books. She was a "social butterfly" and loved spending time with everyone. She took great pleasure in organizing family events and was very close with her sisters and the rest of her family.

Mary is survived by her son Chris Shatinsky of Laceyville, PA, her grandchildren Jamie Shatinsky (Kelly) of Salt Lake City, UT, Danielle Armitage (Kevin) of Laceyville, PA, Krisalyn Shatinsky of Meshoppen, PA, Michael Gandy of Montgomery, AL, Nicole Shatinsky of Montgomery, AL, and Alan Shatinsky of Montgomery, AL, nine great-grandchildren, sisters Betty Marbaker of Auburn, PA and Lil Jayne of Laceyville, PA, special friend Hedy Chaffee of Silvara, PA, as well as many close nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her long time companion, Pete Brozonis of Laceyville, PA and his children Sally Brozonis of Springville, PA, Allen Brozonis (Jessica) of Montrose, PA, and Danny Brozonis of Cincinnati, OH, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson, and his sisters Pat Lyman (Eric) of Laceyville, PA, Betty Farley of Endicott, NY, and Nancy Johnson (Gary) of Laceyville, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Shatinsky, son Steven B. Shatinsky, and siblings Ephraim "Albert" Wilcox, Jr., Louie Wilcox, June Truesdale, Ruth Startzel, Fayette Wilcox, Fenton Wilcox, Oliver "Willy" Wilcox, Shirley Ann Wilcox, and Charlotte Anderson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Beaver Meadows United Methodist Church with Reverend Vickie Ellis of the church and Rev. Tim Barnett of New Hope Ministries officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family at the Beaver Meadows Cemetery.
