Mary E. Smith, age 77, of Meshoppen, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton in Scranton, PA.

Born on April 5, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Burnadette McGavin Allen. Growing up in the Meshoppen area, she attended Elk Lake High School.

Mary was a dedicated wife and mother who would do anything for her family. She absolutely adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Mary also enjoyed keeping herself busy with crafting and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Smith; her children, James Smith, Tammy Carney, Rhonda Smith, Cory Smith, Dale Smith, and Matt Smith. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Annette Allen and John Allen.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Allen.
