Mary Irene Stewart Gerould, age 94, of Camptown, PA passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born on October 25, 1922 in Franklin County, TN the daughter of the late Allen Lloyd and Lillie Mae Marshall Stewart. She was born and raised in Tennessee and moved to Pennsylvania in 1945 after she married her husband George William Gerould, Sr. on September 18, 1945.
She was employed as a Seamstress in dress factories throughout Bradford County. Mary was a member of the Lady Louise Rebekah Lodge of Rome. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and playing canasta with friends and family. She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children George William "Bill" Gerould, Jr. and his wife Barb of Rome, PA, Linda Mae Andrus and her husband Gary of Mountain Lake, PA, and Cathy Ann Johnson and her husband Jerry of Camptown, PA; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Elizabeth Taylor of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George William Gerould, Sr. on February 13, 1994; her granddaughter Shelly Rana Gerould on December 3, 1998; her brothers, Marshall Stewart, James Benjamin "J.B." Stewart, Houston Stewart and Renzy Stewart; and her sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Jones, Edna Frazier, and her twin sister, Martha Stanley.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Pastor Wade Clauser of the Hope Baptist Church officiating. Family and friend may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place on a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
