MaryAnn Allen Burgess, age 68, of 345 Allen Pond Road, Laceyville, PA (Doolittle Hill) passed away peacefully Thursday morning, January 1, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
MaryAnn was born on October 4, 1946 the daughter of the late Frank B. Allen who passed away on January 27, 1999 and the late Betty M. Oliver Allen who passed away on November 4, 2006. MaryAnn was a graduate of the Elk Lake High School with the Class of 1964. After graduation she attended and graduated from the Empire Beauty School in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
MaryAnn was a retired dairy farmer. She worked on her family farm called the Rainbow Dairy Farm on Doolittle Hill with her husband David Jayne. She was a former member of the Goodwill Fire Company Auxiliary and also a social member of the American Legion Rought Hall Post #510. MaryAnn enjoyed family cook-outs at the pond as well as her trips to the Atlantic City casinos. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband whom she has been with for 38 years David Jayne of Laceyville, PA; sons John A. "Magoo" and Stacie Burgess of Laceyville, PA; James K. "Possum" Burgess of Springville, PA; daughter Joelle M. "Tunie" Burgess and Rick Cussins of Laceyville, PA; grandchildren Lyric and Patrick Womer of Dimock, PA; Fawn Ann Burgess of Laceyville, PA; Jake Burgess of Springville, PA; Emalyn Burgess of Springville, PA; Phillip Cussins of Laceyville, PA; Nicholas Cussins of Tunkhannock, PA; Diana Cussins of Tunkhannock, PA; great-granddaughter Alivia Womer of Dimock, PA; and sister Barbara Arey of Wyalusing, PA. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Besides her parents MaryAnn is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Kenneth Arey. The family would like to thank everyone for their concerns and prayers for MaryAnn over the last few months.
It was MaryAnn's wishes to not have a memorial service but the family will celebrate her life at a later date at their convenience.
