Matrisha "Trish" Kay Furman, age 37, of 849 Peet Hill Rd, Laceyville, PA, passed away early Friday Morning, March 8th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a 2-year battle with cancer.

Trish was born in Tunkhannock PA, on September 23, 1986, the daughter of Wyatt Furman and Myra Shipman.  She attended Elk Lake School followed by additional education where she received multiple credentials that aided in furthering her career.

Trish had a true passion for life, family, and friends.  She had a compassionate soul and was the happiest serving others.  She spent many years working at Beacon – Keystone Community Resources where she started as a Day Program Professional and then transitioned into the position of production manager.  She had many passions, one of which was The County Girl's Griddle, LLC, established on May 30th, 2021.   She loved the simplest things in life, had the most magnetic personality, and a smile that filled the room.  She had a heart for children, and they shared the same love for her.  If her time wasn't spent with her daughter, family, or friends, you would find her outside among nature – she was a country girl to the core.  Her wonderful attributes have been passed onto her daughter, Gabby.  She was a loving mother, attentive daughter, caring granddaughter, adored sister, and an amazing friend.  She has and will continue to touch the lives of everyone that knew her.

Trish is survived by her daughter, Gabriella "Gabby" Furman; her parents Wyatt Furman (Brenda Gilliard), Myra Shipman; her siblings Wyatt "Buddy" Furman Jr. (Ashley McGavin), Dillon Cook (Brittany Cook), and Laurin Gilliard; her paternal and maternal grandparents Margaret Furman and Rita Shipman; as well as several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Floyd Furman (September 13, 2014), and uncle, Alan "Zeke" Furman (September 8, 1994).

A private family service will be held for Trish on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St. Laceyville, Pa.  Interment will be in the Furman Family Cemetery on the Furman's Endless Mountains Farm on Peet Hill.  A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
