Obituary

Melissa Ann Williams, age 38, of Laceyville, PA, who had an energetic soul with lots of love was taken to soon on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

She was born on November 13, 1987, in Tunkhannock, PA. She was the daughter of Mary Sue Durland of Meshoppen, PA, and the late Terry Stephen Williams, Sr. (d. April 16, 2024).

Melissa graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 2006. In high school, she enjoyed playing the flute and violin, and was also a cheerleader.

Melissa was a loving person who loved her children. She enjoyed gardening and was a very skilled painter. She loved listening to music and watching movies. She also had a love for cats.

Melissa is survived by her children, Rhiley and Gage; her mother, Mary Sue Durland of Meshoppen, PA; her siblings, Terry Williams, Jr. of Laceyville, PA, Logan Durland of Jacksonville, FL, Jessica Williams of Meshoppen, PA, and Gabrielle Davis and her husband James of Dimmock, PA; her grandparents, William Henry and Gloria Durland of Wilmot, PA and Jessie Williams of Tunkhannock, PA; and aunts and uncles, Vicki Durland of Wyalusing, PA. Theresa Cogswell, of Sugar Run, PA; Matthew Durland of Scranton, PA; Brian and Karen Williams of Keiserville, PA, and Lori Williams, Keiserville, PA.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roger Williams; uncle Dell Williams; and aunt Patricia Williams.

A Celebration of Life for Melissa will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 5:00 pm. at the Sheldon Funeral Homes in Laceyville, PA. 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA. 18623, with Reverend Helen Learn officiating. Family and Friends may call the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Bank, 406 Main St., Laceyville, PA 18623, to help establish a fund to help her children, Rhiley and Gage.
