Michael William Hanley, 54, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Born on October 31, 1970, Michael was a true character from the day he was born, bringing a vibrant and unforgettable spirit to everyone around him.
A proud 1989 graduate of Neshaminy High School, Michael was a passionate football player for the Neshaminy Redskins, where his love for the game and the bonds he formed with his teammates remained cherished memories throughout his life.
Michael had a zest for life that shone brightest during the holidays. His love for Halloween and Christmas was legendary, as he transformed his home into a festive spectacle, delighting neighbors and passersby with elaborate decorations that reflected his joyful spirit. He also found solace and happiness at his second property in upstate Pennsylvania, where he relished time playing outdoors and connecting deeply with family in the area.
Michael was a volunteer firefighter at Dushore, PA Fire-Rescue, where his enthusiasm, dedication and eagerness to serve left a lasting impression on all who met him. His loss is felt deeply by his fellow members and by the entire community.
Michael is survived by his two sons, Michael (Alece) and Matthew (Amy); his grandson, Benjamin, step-granddaughter, Aaliyah; his father, Edward Hanley (Susan); stepfather, James Ennis; brother, Matthew Hanley (Karlene); sisters, Erin Markey (Patrick) and Ginger Sonnier (Darren); sister-in-law, Michelle Hanley; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will always remember his larger-than-life personality. He was predeceased by his mother, Nancy Downing Ennis, and his brothers, Edward and Joshua, whose memories he carried close to his heart.
Michael's unique spirit and infectious enthusiasm will live on in the stories and memories of those who knew him. His family invites friends to join them in celebrating his life at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA 18853 on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Dushore Fire Company at 212 Julia St., Dushore, Pa 18614 in Michael's name.
