Mr. Michael Eugene Loyd, age 71 of Meshoppen, PA passed away on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2023 at his home.

Michael was born in Kingston, PA, on February 10, 1952, the son of the late Eugene Loyd, (d. January 1995) and Lorraine Clime Loyd (d. September 1994). Growing up in the Kingston area of the Wyoming Valley, Michael was a graduate of the Wyoming Valley West High School with the class of 1970.

Michael served his country with the US Marines Corp, from 1974 until 1976. For over 17 years, he was employed with the Lehigh Valley Rail Road, and later with Conrail. For many years, Michael was employed with PennDOT in the Tunkhannock area, where he worked as a dispatcher.

A very accomplished artist, Michael loved to draw and paint. He was able to use pencil, pastels, pen and ink, chalk, as well as any kind of paints. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family and especially socializing with his many friends.

Michael was a member of the Rought Hall Post #510 American Legion, in Black Walnut, PA.

Surviving his wife of 27 years, Nancy (Talcott) Loyd of Meshoppen, PA, his step-children, Edward Warner of Rush, PA, Nick Warner, of Oswego, NY, and Wendy Warner, of Meshoppen, PA. He is also survived by his brother, Patrick Loyd, of Naples, FL, and many cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death, by his Maternal Grandparents, John and Lillian Clime, and Paternal Grandparents, Timothy and Helen Loyd, and his uncle, John "Jack" Clime Jr.

Military Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the St. Joachim's Cemetery in Meshoppen, PA, with the members of the Rought Hall Post #510 American Legion, in Black Walnut, PA, the Dennis Strong Post #457 American Legion, in Tunkhannock, PA, and the Endless Mountains V.F.W. Post #3583 officiating.

Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 Main St., Meshoppen, PA.
